Re: MPCORB
OK here goes. 1. Downloaded file ( looks like a txt file. selected "select all" and copied file. Saved file as MPCORB. In Minor planets inputted D:\Temp\MPC\. Made sure that MPCORB was in the MPC folder. 2. opened AA7 opened Tools>Star Atlas. Went to find. clicked on Open MPCORB-panel greyed out-no ...
MPCORB
I need to identify the location of a comet using the star atlas. I have down loaded the GSC and USNOB data bases. They work fine for stars and deep sky objects but not comets. The MPCORB database seems to be the answer. I have I think properly down loaded the MOCORB comet data base. Specifically, I ...

Re: using the stars option in view
Thanks, control - click did the trick. Looked at the image I was using with the 3D option and most of the stars were flat topped (saturated). Unfortunately have a bad habit of making pretty pictures of my DSOs which in many cases produces saturated stars. Completed a Astro7 astrometry & photometry r...

using the stars option in view
Went through the tutorial #9 on astrometry and photometry with flying colors. I then tried to do the same using one of my DSO images. I cannot select any stars (no rectangle shows up around any star). I do not know why this happening so I tried to attach one of my fit files that had the problem but ...

Statistics parameters
In the statistics report there is listed, "Pixel scale". However, in the help there is no discussion of what this means or how it was derived. Would appreciate any information available on the issue.

Re: AStroart 7 photometry & Astrometry question
All, Again thanks for all the help, really appreciate it. Have purchased Astroart 7 and have GSC 1.1 and UNSO B (www) running just fine. One last question, does anybody have a good site for USCAC4? The ones I have found seen to describe the contents of the data base but not provide a downloadable ca...

Re: AStroart 7 photometry & Astrometry question
Thanks to all who have responded - much appreciated. Einari, evidently had a bad GSCdata base. Cleaned computer reloaded Astroart 5.0 which I own and problem of no stars goes away. Fabedev. have not gotten that kind of error. Still trying to figure how to load some of the other data bases you have m...

Re: AStroart 7 photometry & Astrometry question
First thank you for the quick reply - greatly appreciated. Have downloaded GSCData to my C drive. Still have same problem. Downloaded M57_SUM from images in Astroart. GSC data base atlas does show any stars below a 5.3 degree times 3.1 degree field. The M57 image looks to be roughly 1 degree by 1.5 ...

AStroart 7 photometry & Astrometry question
Newby here. I have been considering purchasing Asrtoart 7 but have a couple of questions before I buy. I am interested in using Astroart 7 to do some reasonably serous work in the area of photometry and astrometry. I started by going through the tutorials. All went fine until I hit tutorial #9. Usin...
