Re: Combining Ha with LGRB
Hi, here is an example, taken from: https://www.arciereceleste.it/tutorial-pixinsight/cat-tutorial-eng/85-enhance-galaxy-ha-eng 1) Subtract from the HAlpha a fraction of the continuous spectrum of the Red image: Merge.jpg e.g. select the HAlpha, click "Merge" from Arithmetic menu, select the Red, co...

Re: remove hot pixels in several files at the same time.
Hi, in AA6 I suggest using a Macro instead. Using a script would be much more complicated. At first define the Macro, use the command "Define Macro": Define.jpg as a test, try the Macro manually on some images. Then this macro can be applied on several images on disk at once, command "Apply Macro" A...

Re: Astroart 9 SP1
About ILP files: ILP is a new open standard to make preprocessing files compatible between different software, see: https://www.astrophotography.app/ILP_Standard.php for the moment Astroart is only capable to read these files, but in the next version it will be also possible to write them. ILP permi...

Re: Evaluating Demo Version
Hello! A different demo version, time-limited, where the star atlas is present is a good idea. However the star atlas cannot do much with the telescope. All the advanced functions are done outside the star atlas (plate solving, auto-centering, sequence of objects), so this will not solve the problem...

Re: M31 - 8 frame Mosaic; a work in progress!
Thanks, in the incoming SP1 there will be two new filters to post-process uneven brightness. One is indeed for mosaics, to soften the edges, before a further background normalization. The other can be used for isolated bright and dark spots. Here is an animation about the first one: Fabio. EdgeAnima...

Re: Problems with Flat Field Correction for Color Camera
Yes, but I can add that option also to an experimental version of Astroart 8, it's easy to add.

Re: Problems with Flat Field Correction for Color Camera
Hi, in preprocessing, a GRGB RAW flat field (so grayscale) is used as luminance (unless it's already a color master flat field), so it cannot correct chroma variations. The menu command "Image / Divide" instead divides each R/G/B planes separately. To solve, prepare a color master flat field (averag...

Re: Problems with Flat Field Correction for Color Camera
There is no solution, a flat field can only correct vignetting and dust. To correct also light pollution it should be taken on the same zone at the same hour, but that would mean a different flat field for every object. Also light pollution "adds" light to the image, instead of "multiplying" like vi...

Re: Problems with Flat Field Correction for Color Camera
To solve it would be needed to see the original images. I think that Preprocessing is actually applying the flat, but the correction is partial because the images also have an extra gradient caused by light pollution.

Re: Problems with Flat Field Correction for Color Camera
Hi, the image "without flat processing" shows a strong left-to-right gradient, so that flat field cannot correct the image in any case. Maybe there was a strong light pollution or dew. Here is a quick processing on that JPEG with Remove Gradient Adaptive 25, after having masked the nebulas: RemoveGr...
