Re: Plate solving in AA8

Dave,
Good to hear about your journey...and your current situation.
Your rotating top looks like the "OctoDome" I used way back in the 1980's. Worked well for me.

Re: Sky Background

Morten,
I'd assume that the minor (0.45%) improvement is due to the improved SNR with the stack.

Re: Controling two Canon DSLR's simultaneously

Ok, by setting up one instance of AA7 to #1 camera (1000D), and opening a second instance of AA7 to #2 camera (450D) it is possible to control the cameras independently and have them both simultaneously exposing!!!!
Look forward to the first real trials....

Re: Controling two Canon DSLR's simultaneously

This is an old thread..... I'm setting up two Canon DSLR's for spectroscopy. One, the 450D with a 85mm prime lens for wide field, and a 1000D on the ED80 for single star spectra. As mentioned previously you can use two instances of AA7 to control the cameras. I don't understand the camera selection ...

Re: MILES Search Spreadsheet

Patrick,
Which spreadsheet are you discussing?
I use the Miles (and Pickles) database in BASS Project for my spectrography.
Have you looked at:

Re: focus on emissionline by calibration spectrograph

Erik,
The focus routine already does this.
Check the Astroart Guide (F1) within Astroart and search on Focuser/ "Autofocus"

UCAC5 - Any users?

I use UCAC4 but just noticed that UCAC5 was issued back in 2017.
It's not even mentioned on the UCAC website!

Has anyone tried it yet??

Re: plate solve failure

I had similar problems... I received this sample script from one of the members (Iver): Maybe this will help. This is a script I run after a goto , it takes an image, solves it, syncs the scope to the image and then centers the target. raTar = Telescope.RA deTar = Telescope.DEC Camera.Binning(1) Cam...

Re: removing the bright sun from an image

Conrad/ Fabio,
There's an even easier way...
I use Sylvain's CORONO software.
