I have spent some time at the Naval Observatory web site for a downloadable data base(index). I find lots of peripheral information but not a downloadable large file. Where is this??
Also what are the camera and focal length aspects of your trial files for practice. I could not plate solve them.

You can use an ftp client to access and download the UCAC4 catalog here:
ftp://cdsarc.u-strasbg.fr/cats/I/322A/UCAC4/

Take note that there is no one single data file to download but many in separate directories. Total data to download will be about 8.4GB

I don't have the info. for the trial files, maybe Fabio has this info.

Hi, the horizontal size of several Messier images (M63, 67, 81, etc.) is 13.5 arcminutes. There's a mini tutorial with the M67 image in the Help about "Find coordinates".
