profile of selected rectangle?

Fabio,
To assist in evaluating a spectral image it would be good to be able to view the profile of the spectrum along a rectangle where the columns are summed/average ie if the spectrum image is say 10 pixel high, select a rectangle 13 x 200 and then show the summed profile along this length.
Hope that makes sense. Is it possible?

Hello Ken, yes there's a command for this: select the 200x13 rectangle, then Menu Image/Binning/Average Y
