Hi'
I'am about to buy a new disktop pc for AA8.
It says that AA8 can use all cpu core.
But is that for all funktion inside AA8.
I gess preprocess will use all 8 core but what about remove gradient or other time consumption task.

Happy New year.

Hi, Remove gradient and almost all intensive filters will use all cores and will benefit from them.
Preprocessing is different, it's a series of different elaborations, for example file opening and analysis will not benefit from other CPU cores, it would be better a fast SSD and fast memory, while stacking (rotating and aligning images) is multicore and will benefit from them, sigma stacking is accelerated by memory, 16/32 Gb may be much faster than 8 Gb.
If you like silence, consider also an efficient top-quality power supply and CPU cooler, and don't consider a CPU with a TDP higher than 120W.
Happy 2022! Fabio.
