Just downloaded AA v8 and currently going through the various set-ups. I've hit a snag in that I can't get UCAC4 and comet.txt into the catalogue folder.
I've followed the instructions and have the MPCORB.DAT (which has a .GZ file extension) and Comet.txt downloads.
How do I get them into the catalogue folder please...

You move the files into the catalogue folder using the windows file manager. You have to use the MPCORB.DAT file without the gz extension. When you find the MPCORB.DAT here:

you right click on the link and select 'save as' and simply save it into the AA8 catalogue folder. Do the same for the 'comets' link.

On the main AA8 window, select the 'Edit' drop down menu and "options->star Atlas" and make sure that the correct folder is selected for the minor planets catalogs, for example: C:\Astroart8\Catalog\

the same Star Atlas options page will enable you to select UCAC4 as a star atlas option for catalog 1.

With my AA8 Upgrade I downloaded the optional GAIA catalogue but do not have a UCACx (or any other) catalogue.
Should a UCAC have been included (I may have deleted it !!) or has it been replaced by the GAIA?
Am I able to obtain the UCACx catalogue?
