Hello everybody,
at the Astroart web site it's now available a new driver for video/webcams which supports some new video cameras, including the ASI120 series. Until now this camera could be controlled only by the ASCOM driver, which was fine for long exposures but it missed the realtime preview.
The ASI series cameras ( http://www.zwoptical.com/Eng/Cameras/ ) are versatile cameras for planetary imaging and autoguide, but also deepsky on brighter objects (the camera is not cooled).
This camera includes a small fisheye lens, which is very useful for tests and fullsky imaging.
The ASI video driver let you tune the Gain/Gamma and set the exposure from 64 microseconds (!) to 1000 seconds. The result can be seen in realtime:
Clear skies,
Fabio and Martino.
