Add a Solar Tracking feature

Post by cardanoc » 01 Nov 2024, 20:20

Hi

I do a lot of solar imaging along with stellar imaging. Right now, software can't handle solar tracking.

Is it possible for Astro Art to do this by:

1) taking an image of the sun using the guider camera and reversing the image (i.e., make a negative)
2) have the user draw a rectangle around one of sunspots(which is now bright instead of dark. It looks like a star))
3) have the guider follow that sunspot.

Think about it.

In the mean time (when/if this is implemented) I recommend using PHD2 which can do lunar and solar guiding.

I have tested it and it works nicely.

Hi, OK, it will be added in SP1, available in March. If you need the prerelease now, please contact by email at:
