HX916 Image Download Fails

Post by norff226 » 30 Nov 2024, 04:09

So, after almost 15 years, I am going to try to get back into imaging. I have an older Starlight Xpress HX916 with the USB 1.1 interface, which I'm running on a somewhat older Windows 10 laptop. I have followed all of the advice and instructions for getting the camera to function with Astroart. The camera is identified by Windows and shows up as Starlight Xpress CCD in device manager, so I have to assume that I have the drivers installed correctly. I have the camera plugin installed, the HX916USB driver is installed and shows up in the camera selector. Everything seems to be working fine EXCEPT, after the exposure is taken, the software freezes and the image isn't downloaded from the camera. I always have to force quit AA9. I've been trying a number of different variations, but so far have comeup emptyhanded. Has anyone found or come up with any tweaks to get the camera to download the image into Astroart? I even tried playing around with using ASCOM, but that fails as well, in fact it won't even connect to the camera.

Which version of AA9 are you running; is it the 64bit, LAA, or 32bit variant?

Does the camera download with the Starlight Xpress software?
