Hi Everyone,
I have been using the AA autofocusing since AA5. It is similar in AA6. I am able to achieve pretty decent focus but I do see some images from time to time with exceptional focus. These are not done necessarily with AA and it may be completely seeing and/or equipment related. Still I was wondering how most folks use the autofocusing settings. Typically, I will do a quick manual focus to get the FWHM numbers as low as I can. Depending on seeing that is usually around 1.2 - 1.3 with my SV-105 and H9C camera. My exposure on the focus star is usually ~ 0.8 secs. I do 7 increments of 5 steps with 2 repeat measurements and I usually go with that as best focus. Sometimes I will do everything twice as a check. Just curious if I am getting the most out of the autofocusing algorithm and what other imagers are using for these settings.
Thanks.
Mike
