Hot Pixel Process - Might this change be considered for future versions?

Hello,

Concerning the 'One Pixel Defects' option.

As previously advised, for a pixel to be considered 'single', it must be the only pixel in a 3 x 3 square.

Might a user choosing the 'One Pixel Defects' selection also then be given an option to discard one pixel value of the surrounding 8 when calculating the replacement value?

This should be for the first pixel classified as hot (assuming that there is a processing sequence). This might then allow a "discarded" pixel to also be corrected.

My thoughts.

Regards,
Patrick.

Hello,
the other option "group of pixels" should address those cases. By the way, I think that the best way to do that is to evaluate every algorithm on a set of images, analyzing also if/how it changes the brightest pixel of some stars (it must not happen obviously). You could do it with the demo plugin in the SDK, it just reads a 3x3 pixel window, process and write the pixel. You only need to change the algorithm.
Kindest regards,
Fabio.

Fabio,

Thanks for that - I am not a programmer.
