The 17P/Holmes outburst

On November 2007, while I was testing AA acquisition and processing of DSLR images, the comet 17P/Holmes was in ouburst reacing in a few hours a magnitude of about 2.3 (starting at 14.5!). Here is a sum of 21 images taken with a Canon 350D unmodified and a 155/f9 APO at the Observatory of Cavezzo (Italy)

I remember that so clearly! Every year at Halloween, I set up a scope for the ghosts, ghoulies and their parents. I had a 12" Meade set up with the comet as the main attraction of the night. Best one man outreach ever! Very nice image, by the way!!
