alignment of post meridian flip images which are 180deg rotated

Post by Forum_2017 »

How does AA6 handle a mixture of subs which are pre and post meridian flip where images are rotated 180 degrees? I got errors when I tried to use the preprocessing with auto alignment

i may have just found the solution...increase the default rotation to 180. Is that correct?

That's weird, I was about to post the same question. I did the 180 flip but my "up/down" was still too far off to get proper alignment. The Halpha and OIII images aligned fine automatically, but I had to still manually move the SII image when assembling the trichromy. Anyone have a better solution?.

Yes, setting "180" in the Align Window, after selecting "translation + rotation" as Method is the correct way to do it.

@bascomb, what do you mean for "up/down"? After the meridian flip the image should only have an extra rotation, without other mirror flipping.

I think it's a mount problem. I have a significant shift in the x-axis in addition to the 180 flip in the y-axis. I'll try setting the rotation to 180 and see if that also corrects my x shift
