Automated ROR control possible with AA
Is the automated opening/closing control of roll of roof type observatories possible with AstroArt ?
Re: Automated ROR control possible with AA
I'm using a script to run the AA sequencer. Once the sequence is complete the script parks the scope, closes the roof and turns the power off. I'm using serial controlled relays that are opened and closed from the script. You could also use ASCOM switches controlled with the script. To start an imaging session I run a script that turns the power on and opens the roof, would you really need to automate opening the roof?

Hello Iver,
perhaps not, I may have used incorrect terminology. A similar set up to yourself may well be the way. I'm following a youtube presentation for adding motor controlled roof opening and closing manually and the chap has also progressed to remotely opening and closing using NINA which I may follow, but I'm using Astroart 8 and wondered if I could do the same using AA8. Howe ever, I would need a step by step guide.
Thanks,
Eric

Hello to everybody,
I'll suggest to very the thread "Arduino" on the script section of this Forum. It deals with the way it was dealt with from the days of AA5.
Regards.
Alessandro
